Dr Sammad Hashmi
Dr. Sammad Hashmi is a highly experienced and compassionate psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical practice in both the NHS and private sectors. He holds Specialist Registration in General Adult Psychiatry and has served in senior roles across various psychiatric subspecialties, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Learning Disabilities. Dr. Hashmi specializes in neurodiversity, with a particular focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and is proficient in assessing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Hashmi is an Accredited Mediator with advanced training in workplace and employment mediation. He serves as a Medical Member of the First-tier Tribunal Service for the Social Entitlement Chamber under the Ministry of Justice and acts as a Special Visitor to the Court of Protection, conducting mental capacity assessments for the Office of the Public Guardian.
Beyond his clinical and legal roles, Dr. Hashmi is an author and public speaker. His book, Psychoruptcy – It’s Worse Than Bankruptcy!, explores the concept of psychological depletion and offers strategies for mental resilience. He is also the founder of Ocean Care Ltd, an initiative aimed at promoting creativity in mental health care. More here
